Holy Habits: Tell the World

Text: Acts 8:26-40 Target: What is significant will always be shared.   _______________________ of a Servant: “Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place.” (Vs. 26) A. Called to a Purpose: “rise and go”  B. Called to a Place: “a desert place” (Vs. 26) C. Called unto Obedience: “And he rose and went.” (27a)  ______________ for Significance: “And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure.” (Vs. 27b) A. Person of Status: “a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians who was in charge of all her treasure.” (27c) B. Pursuit of Spirituality: “He had come to Jerusalem to worship.” (Vs. 27d)  C. Possession of Scripture: “and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah.” (Vs. 28) ___________________ to the Spirit: “And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” (Vs. 29) A. Priority of Observation: “Go over and join”   B. Power of Question: “So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” (Vs. 30) C. Point of Connection: “And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.” (Vs. 31) D. Promise of Revelation: “And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” (Vs. 34) __________________ the Savior: “Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.” (Vs. 35) A. HIS Sacrifice: (Vs. 32-23 is an excerpt from Is. 53:7-8) B. HIS Substitution: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Is. 53:6) C. HIS Salvation: "he bore the sin of many and makes intercession for the transgressors."  (Is. 53:12) ______________________ that's Simple: “for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20) A. Prayer of Inclusion: Lord, would you allow me to be good news to someone today? B. Priority of Observation: Lord, would allow me to see who you need me to see today?  C. Point of Connection: (Relevant, Interests, Culture, Events)  D. Proper Transition: Seem, like a great person, do you mind if I ask you a spiritual question?  E. Power of a 1st Question: What do you think it takes to go to heaven?  F. Present Scripture: Romans Road - Romans 3:10, 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9, 10:13 G. Power of a 2nd Question: Would you like to accept Jesus as your Savior today?   Takeaway:  Don’t just keep Jesus personal, make him public.
